Estate Ephemera from an Anniston veteran's sale
This one came from an estate sale on Lochlee Street in Anniston, run over three days by Helping Hands Estate Sales. The listing described household items, furniture, and more than what was pictured, and among it all we picked up a good bit of paper history.
The standout is a batch of typed letters and correspondence tucked into plastic sleeves, one dated July 1945 from Falls Church, Virginia, describing details of a Navy incident involving a ship called the Drexler and kamikaze attacks off Okinawa. Alongside the letters were photographs, a framed piece, a smaller framed recipe or menu card reading "Take-It-Easy Oven Meals," and a black cup or tumbler with lettering that wasn't fully legible in the photo.
