An Air Force colonel's Douglasville estate

UPDATE: This estate is from the late Col. Patricia June Harrington. Obituary available online here: https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/legacyremembers/col-patricia-harrington-obituary?id=60939970

We made it out to a Douglasville estate sale on Sunday, June 28, for a home belonging to an Air Force colonel and pilot. The listing described it as a packed house full of treasures, and by the time we got there plenty of it had already been picked through, but we still came away with a good box for around $135.

The haul leans heavily into military life. There's a hardback titled "The Air Force," along with several Air Force manuals and doctrine booklets, a Marine Corps publication on the role of the Marines in national defense, and a copy of "Sea Power" magazine. A pair of aviator-style sunglasses was tucked in with the books. Alongside the military material, we picked up a stack of cookbooks, including "Atlanta Cooknotes," "Savor the Flavor," and "Georgia Grub," plus a set of nesting wooden bowls and a larger matching wooden dish. There are also several photo albums with decorative covers (with 100's maybe 1000's of photos) and a few additional paperback titles, including one on games and training exercises.

We'll be photographing and listing these individually over the coming days across our usual marketplaces. Check back as they come online.
