1927 Beauty Print Ad Lot 7 Coty Flaconettes Boncilla Delatone Palmer's Cosmetic — photo 1 of 8

Photo 1 of 8

About this piece

A group of seven original full-page beauty, complexion and toiletry advertisements, carefully removed from a 1927 drugstore almanac. Each page measures about 7.5" x 5.25" inches. Light even toning, with small binding holes along one edge from removal; the Palmer's page has a rougher binding edge with small chips.

Ads included: Palmer's Skin-Success Soap, Ointment and Hair-Success Dressing (Morgan Drug Co., Brooklyn) • Del-a-Tone depilatory with a flapper illustration (Sheffield Pharmacal Co., Chicago) • Genuine Flaconettes perfume vials listing Coty, Houbigant, Guerlain, Caron and Roger & Gallet scents (Importers Exchange, New York) • Boncilla Beautifier Clasmic Facial Pack, with its mail-in coupon still attached (Indianapolis) • Dr. C. H. Berry Co.'s Kremola Face Cream and Freckle Ointment (Chicago) • Dr. Charles Flesh Food tin, sharing its page with a Pine Bros. Glycerine Tablets ad • Saphanol mouth wash (Indianapolis).

Period illustrations of bobbed-hair women, tins, jars and perfume bottles make these a lovely Roaring Twenties set for framing, vanity decor, collage and junk journals, or cosmetics history. The cover photo shows all seven pages; each is also pictured on its own.
