About this piece
Real photo postcard (RPPC) on AZO stock showing a large crowd of men, women and children in period dress gathered at the steps and arched entrance of a church with a square clapboard bell tower and plastered or stucco lower walls. A barn and trees stand in the background, and several people stand on the steps at the doorway. A name sign on the tower is not legible in the photograph, and no town is given. Standard 3.5 x 5.5 in, horizontal, unposted and unused. Good vintage condition with sepia toning, light silvering at the top of the image, minor surface spots, and light corner wear.
Back is blank with "Post Card," "Correspondence," "Address" and an AZO stamp box with triangles pointing up at the top and down at the bottom, a style generally dated about 1918-1930.
An appealing rural church gathering scene with dozens of people, of interest to real photo, church history, and early 20th-century fashion collectors. The tower sign may be readable under magnification.
