RPPC German Evangelical Church Wellington Missouri MO 1910s Real Photo Postcard — photo 1 of 2

Photo 1 of 2

About this piece

Real photo postcard (RPPC) of the German Evangelical Church, Wellington, Missouri, with the caption hand-lettered on the photo. Front shows the white frame church with tall pointed steeple, arched windows and trees in front, with grave markers visible at far left. The photo fills the upper part of the card with a plain lower margin. Standard 3.5 x 5.5 in, posted from Wellington, Mo., in October 1913 (year as read from the cancel). Good antique condition with corner and edge wear, a small crease mark at the top edge, and light toning and soiling.

Front caption: "German Evangelical Church, Wellington, Mo." Back has a faint "Post Card" heading with "Correspondence Here" and "Name and Address Here" divisions. Wellington, Mo. circular cancel dated Oct. 5, 1913, on a one-cent green Washington stamp.

The message is written entirely in German script (Kurrent), addressed to Miss Minnie Kottwitz, Rosebud, Mo., R.F.D. #2. A great small-town Missouri German church view with genealogy and German-American interest.
