About this piece
Original 1927 advertisement for Ker-ene, "The Medicinal Kerosene for the Hair and Scalp," by The Welty Company, 335 Sigel St., Chicago. Carefully removed from a vintage 1927 publication; it measures about 5.25 x 3.75 inches. Light even toning and small binding holes along one edge from removal; no tears seen.
A wonderfully odd period remedy: deodorized, non-greasy, non-inflammable kerosene sold for thin and oily hair, dandruff and falling hair, and also for colds, sore feet, burns, sunburn and mosquito bites. Bold checkered border and script Ker-ene logo.
A great conversation piece for quack medicine, barbershop and hair-care collectors, Chicago advertising, framing or junk journals.
