About this piece

Set of Blackhawk Films 35mm 2x2 color railroad slides, photographed by Fred Byerly, from the set Those Famous Alco Diesels — PA's, FA's and DL109's — Eastern Roads (350-837), ©MCMLXX (1970) The Eastin-Phelan Corporation, Davenport, Iowa. Each white cardboard mount has a printed caption, for example 837-34 Southern (NO&NE) PA-3 No. 6900 at Atlanta, February 1963, and 837-35 L&N FA-2 No. 300 at East St. Louis, October 1965. Housed in a Blackhawk Color Slides box; box shows wear and marker writing.

19 Slides total

Note: the outer box is labeled for a different Blackhawk set, Diesels on the Erie-Lackawanna 350-851 (©1971); the slides inside are from the Alco Diesels set. The box has "SELL" and "3-98" written in marker and a price sticker on the edge. Slides not projected or individually checked.

Blackhawk's captioned slide sets are a favorite with railfans and diesel historians — a nice period view of Alco passenger and freight units on Eastern lines.
