About this piece

Vintage 1947 pocket memo and calendar booklet printed "Compliments of The Wadley Company," a poultry, egg and cream buyer whose cover lists packing plants at Indianapolis, Terre Haute and Columbus, Indiana, and Paris, Mattoon and Pana, Illinois. It measures about 3 x 5.4 inches with a cloth-taped spine. Condition: used, with general cover wear and some spots and staining on the back cover.

Inside, a 1947 full-year calendar faces a page of farm advice: "Government regulations require clean cream, free from extraneous matter," "Clean cream, well cooled and marketed at least twice weekly, is best," and "Eggs also require cooling as well as frequent gathering and marketing to preserve their quality," closing with "Guard the Quality. Better products from you mean better prices to you."

The back cover reads "Produce More Quality Poultry Eggs and Cream. Sell those products for Cash at our convenient locations. The Wadley Company."

A nice piece of 1940s Midwest farm and dairy advertising for collectors of Indiana and Illinois paper, agricultural ephemera and giveaway calendars.
